Even Leigh Torrence wasn't sure how he deflected the ball. He got a piece of it with his hand, he thought. Maybe it then bounced off his helmet. What really matters is that he was there, swinging the tide Sunday with a solid defensive play in the fourth quarter. He kept pace with Steve Breaston deep over the middle and caused Kurt Warner's pass to bounce high into the air and into the hands of diving teammate Carlos Rogers. 

Campbell leads Redskins to comeback win over Saints

On Sunday, both got the point. Campbell went from uncomfortable to prolific with a 321-yard passing day, and he mastered the "avoid, reset and throw" move with aplomb on a 67-yard touchdown to Santana Moss as the Redskins came from behind to beat the New Orleans Saints 29-24. 

Defense 1-For-2 vs. Favre

All week long, it was Brett Favre fever in New York. And Saturday night's Redskins-Jets matchup brought with it a throng of national media as the heralded Favre made his debut as the Jets' quarterback. In the end, though, it was just a preseason game. The Redskins rallied in the fourth quarter to beat the Jets 13-10.  

Taylor Shows Versatility In Redskins Debut

Jason Taylor played his first preseason game with the Redskins on Saturday night, starting at left defensive end against the Buffalo Bills. Later, Taylor moved over to play right defensive end, proving his versatility on the defensive line.  

Hall of Fame Game Win For Redskins: 30-16

On Sunday night, in front of a national television audience, the Redskins capped the celebration with a 30-16 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in the annual Hall of Fame Game at Fawcett Stadium in Canton.
